The artwork for the single Sister by TSHA

Londoner TSHA is a DJ and producer who has been causing quite the storm within the electronic music scene since she released her debut EP Dawn back in 2018. She continues to impress into 2020, with a further EP Moonlight in 2019, and a string of remixes for the likes of Foals, Throwing Snow, Qrion (Anjunadeep), Prospa and Lianne La Havas.

Sister is the first track from upcoming EP Flowers—a record that will feature collaborations with Gabrielle Aplin and Malian griot music group Trio Da Kali—which is set for release on 16th October 2020 on the Ninja Tune label.

Onto the track, it’s a vibrant, summery number, opening with a minimal bassline and sparse piano, it quickly flows into a bouncy house beat with a delicate guitar melody, accompanied by a series of vocal adlibs. These are quickly overshadowed by the bassline, when TSHA opens up the filter so that it becomes the focal point of the track. Towards the middle of the track we’re treated to a beautifully high female vocal in the refrain, which subsides before we’re returned to the thumping house beat, this time joined by a dirty acid line.

A good indication of what’s to come, TSHA continues to shine with new single Sister, and we’re ready and waiting for the release of Flowers later in the year.
