Estonian multidisciplinary artist Endamisi Salamisi joins the Hidden Assets roster of Healer Records with Mood Swings 4 Everyone, a six-track EP that folds hazy dub techno, airy soundscapes and aquatic breakbeat into a single, unhurried package. Previewed in full on the Gestalt label’s SoundCloud ahead of its Bandcamp Friday release on 4th December, it’s the fourth outing on the label (HA04) and further proof that its lo-fi, ambient-leaning corner of the underground is worth paying close attention to.
The title promises volatility, yet the record’s real skill is the way it drifts between states rather than swinging between them. Opener Affluenza eases in on slow-breathing pads and a kick buried deep in the mix, its echoed dub chords dissolving into long trails of reverb before a wiry melodic line surfaces and gently unwinds. Pirch Ply follows with the EP’s most intriguing rhythm—a fractured, underwater breakbeat that clatters softly beneath shimmering textures, like percussion heard through several metres of water.
The centrepiece arrives with Guilt, an eight-and-a-half-minute dub techno meditation that locks onto a four-to-the-floor pulse and lets the space around it do the talking. Sparse stabs, delayed keys and a bassline that hums low and constant lend the track a meditative gravity, and it never feels the need to rush anywhere. Sindi Dub is truer to its name—echo-laden, head-nodding and wreathed in haze—whilst Sindi Metsa Vari (translating roughly as ‘forest shadow’) strips everything back to an airy, almost weightless interlude of drifting pads and field-recording textures.
Closer Head Ajad—‘good times’—brings the record home on a soft bed of lo-fi ambience and gentle percussion, rounding off an EP that feels generous and quietly assured. There are no grand gestures here, just patient, tactile sound design and a real command of atmosphere. For anyone who lives in that hazy mid-tempo lane between dub techno and ambient, Mood Swings 4 Everyone is a record well worth sinking into.
