Montreal producer Christophe Dubois, better known as CRi, has become one of Anjunadeep’s breakout melodic-house voices since his debut LP Juvenile landed in 2020. To You EP, his first release for the label since, finds him leaning further into the dreamy side of his sound—three tracks of soft-focus house that drift rather than push, arriving via Anjunadeep just in time for the summer’s long evenings.
Opening track No Mission establishes the record’s palette within seconds: a deep, unhurried bassline, airy pads and a four-to-the-floor kick that rolls forward with real warmth. Nothing about it is in a hurry—melodies unfurl slowly, drenched in reverb, and the arrangement breathes the way a good hammock does. There are no histrionics, no breakdown tricks; just delicate, confident production that rewards headphones as much as it does a rooftop at dusk.
Title track To You is the centrepiece, and it’s easy to hear why it became a summer deep-house staple. A simple, breathy vocal hook sits above a glossy, chiming melody and a bassline that pockets perfectly beneath shimmering chords. Disarmingly direct, it’s the sort of track that feels familiar on first listen and refuses to leave your head.
Closer Lonely Romance rounds things out in more contemplative fashion, the pads turning duskier as a muted guitar line adds unexpected organic warmth beneath the groove. With To You EP, CRi consolidates the promise of Juvenile without repeating it: three tracks of refined, unhurried melodic house that hang together beautifully as a whole. It’s not a record that announces itself, but it lingers—and in the middle of summer, that’s precisely what a release like this should do.
