No Regrets EP

Korben Nice is back. After a long absence from the scene, the producer—whose Beatport bio proudly flags the return of “Mister Nice”—lands on Berlin digital imprint SUB TL with No Regrets EP, a five-track collection of machine-driven, hypnotic techno. It’s a comeback that makes its point quietly: five locked-in cuts that sound like the time away was spent refining a sound rather than chasing a trend.

SUB TL has built its reputation as one of Berlin’s more dependable digital techno imprints, and catalogue number SUBTL062 fits the roster like a glove. There are no concessions to the floor here—no breakdowns engineered for a camera, no vocal stabs designed to travel—just drums, texture and a persistent, hypnotic pulse that keeps the whole record moving forward without ever raising its voice.

Opening cut Obscurity wastes no time establishing that character: a dry, four-to-the-floor kick sits beneath layers of hissing percussion and a bassline that burrows rather than bounces, shifting subtly across its six minutes. Existence eases the pressure, a dubby pad hanging over the groove like low cloud, whilst Moments is the EP’s most expansive moment, its snare drenched in reverb and a muted, circling melody providing the closest thing to a hook. Order to Chaos delivers on its name, the percussion gradually fraying at the edges before the kick reasserts control, and closing track Blue Light strips everything back to a bare, widescreen pulse that lingers after the record stops.

No Regrets EP is a confident, unhurried return. It’s not a record that grabs you by the lapels; it works on you the way the best minimal techno should—through patience, repetition and the slow accumulation of detail. If this is what a long absence produces, the wait has been well worth it.
